2015 QMJHL Mock Draft (updated with Veleno)

Once again this year HockeyProspect.com will take a stab at mapping out where some of the top QMJHL Draft prospects may end up when the first round is complete on Saturday morning.

There’s some great talent available at the top of this draft, all season it has been a three-way race for the top available prospect between Maxime Comtois, Antoine Morand and Shane Bowers. After those three you could see a run on goaltender happening in the 4^th and 5^th spot with Dereck Baribeau and Alex D’Orio going back to back.

As in like in every draft some players have options of going the NCAA route, Shane Bowers is one but also our top rank defenseman Antoine Crête-Belzile who seems the most serious of all 1^st round prospect about his intention. It should be interesting to see where he goes in the draft.

There should be a lot of changes in the draft order once the trade period open on friday, a lot of talk that the #2 & #3 pick are in play this weekend. Saint-John who has the #1, #9 & #10 pick could be very active on Saturday.

Here’s our mock draft for the first round; notes: Cape-Breton with the 19^th overall pick is a compensation pick they received when they relinquished their rights on last year first rounder Michael O’Leary.

HockeyProspect.com tente encore une fois cette saison de prédire les sélections des équipes de la LHJMQ de la première ronde du repêchage qui se complètera samedi matin.

Il y a plusieurs joueurs talentueux disponibles au début du repêchage, tout au long de l’année on a eu droit à une course a 3 joueurs entre Maxime Comtois, Antoine Morand et Shane Bowers. Après ces trois joueurs on pourrait voir 2 gardiens de but sortir un après l’autre au 4^e et 5^e rang avec Dereck Baribeau et Alex D’Orio.

Comme à chaque repêchage certains joueurs ont l’option d’aller jouer vers les États-Unis dans la NCAA. C’est le cas de Shane Bowers mais également de notre défenseur le mieux coté en Antoine Crête-Belzile qui semble de tous les joueurs classés en 1ere ronde le plus sérieux en ce qui est à son intention d’aller jouer aux États-Unis. Cela risque d’être intéressant de voir ou il aboutira au repêchage.

Il devrait avoir beaucoup de changement à l’ordre de repêchage avec la période des échanges qui s’ouvrira vendredi. Beaucoup de rumeurs sur les choix #2 et #3 qui serait disponible sur le marché. Saint-John qui possède le 1^er, 9^e et 10^e choix pourrait être très actif en fin de semaine.

Voici donc à quoi devrait ressembler la première ronde de ce repêchage à notre avis. Note : Le choix des Screaming Eagles du Cap-Breton (19e au total) est un choix compensatoire qui leur a été donné quand ils ont libéré Michael O’Leary qu’il avait repêché la saison dernière en 1ere ronde.
