A look at the top performances of the week featuring draft-eligible players

OHL

– Plymouth Whalers forward Ryan Hartman recorded his first career hat trick on Saturday night. The third goal was scored in overtime. He finished the weekend with 4 goals and 2 assists in 3 games.

– Max Domi (London) scored 2 goals & 4 assists in 2 games, moving him into 6th place in OHL scoring.

– Three Kitchener Rangers players had big offensive weeks. Centre Joshua Sterk recorded 1 goal, 5 assists & a +7 rating in 4 games. Brent Pederson netted 4 goals & 1 assist, while Justin Bailey scored 3 goals & 2 assists.

– Saginaw forward Nick Moutrey recorded 5 points (1 G, 4 A) in 3 games.

– Zack Nastasiuk (Owen Sound) & Jason Dickinson (Guelph) each scored 3 goals and 1 assist in 3 games.

– Jordan Subban (Belleville) & Dan Fox (Erie) each recorded 1 goal & 3 assists.

QMJHL

– Baie-Comeau forward Valentin Zykov recorded a 6-point game vs. Rouyn-Noranda on Saturday. He has 17 points in six January games. Zykov is 1st in rookie scoring and is tied for 2nd in game-winning goals in the QMJHL (6).

– Val-d’Or forward Anthony Mantha scored 2 goals & 3 assists in 3 games. He scored his 8th power play goal of the season and currently sits 5th in league scoring.

– Frederik Gauthier (Rimouski) scored 1 goal & 3 assists in 2 games.

– Gatineau left winger Emile Poirier assisted on 4 goals in 4 games. He leads the Olympiques in scoring with 45 points in 40 games.

– Halifax teammates Jonathan Drouin and Nathan MacKinnon each recorded 1 goal & 2 assists in 2 games. Matej Beran (PEI) also scored 1 goal & 2 assists on the weekend.

– Goaltender Zach Fucale (Halifax) went 3-0 with a 2.33 GAA & .907 SV%. He leads all CHL goaltenders in wins (28). Meanwhile, Philippe Desrosiers (Rimouski) and Domenic Graham (Drummondville) each picked up a win during the past week.

WHL

– Prince Albert defenceman Josh Morrissey scored 4 goals & 4 assists in 3 games, moving up to 7th place in WHL defenceman scoring. Two of his goals were game-winners.

– Nicolas Petan (Portland) recorded 2 goals & 3 assists in 3 games. He continues to lead the WHL in scoring with 74 points. His teammate, Brendan Burke, went 2-0 with a .941 save percentage. Burke has 13 straight wins and hasn’t lost a game since October 6th.

– Edmonton Oil Kings forward Curtis Lazar scored 4 goals & 1 assist in 4 games, while his teammate, goaltender Tristan Jarry, went 1-0 and recorded his 2nd consecutive shutout. Jarry leads the WHL in goals against average (1.68).

– Forward Morgan Klimchuk (Regina) and defenceman Shea Theodore (Seattle) each recorded 2 goals & 2 assists.

– Erie Comrie (Tri-City) stopped 34 of 35 shots in a 3-1 win over the Kamloops Blazers.

USHL

– Dubuque Fighting Saints centre Peter Quenneville scored 1 goal & 3 assists in 2 games. He moved up to 3rd place in league scoring with 44 points in 33 games.

– Waterloo forward Taylor Cammarata netted 2 goals and assisted on 2 others in 3 games. He continues to lead the USHL in scoring with 53 points in 29 games. His Black Hawks teammate, Ian McCoshen, recorded 1 goal & 3 assists in 3 games.

– Forwards Trevor Moore (Tri-City) scored 1 goal & 2 assists in 2 games.

– Youngstown goaltender Sean Romeo recorded 2 wins while posting a 1.96 GAA & .944 SV%.
