More and more people are taking the ice bucket challenge and it’s gaining steam each and every day. It was a no brainer for me to take the challenge and make a donation. While I was away at the NHL Draft back in June, a family friend, Wayne Buchanan, lost his battle with A.L.S, I attended his funeral a few days later. Wayne battled for about 2.5 years before passing away on June 26th. For approximately a year and a half of that time, he needed 24 hour care. His family held a fund raiser early on in his battle, Wayne wanted to see family and friends before the worst of the A.L.S took over. He was already struggling to communicate. It’s a truly horrible illness.
I’m making my donation for $100.00 in the memory of Wayne Buchanan. RIP Wayne.
I’m also nominating Misha Donskov from the Ottawa 67’s, Mike Oke from the Peterborough Petes and Warren Rychel from the Windsor Spitfires to take the challenge.
