GBH #10 F Roberts, Connor (2016) – Roberts is a big center who plays a very sound positional game. He has the ability to be a 200 ft. player who can put up some good offensive numbers at the next level. He has a good release and excellent vision with the puck as he made several tough passes that were tape to tape. Roberts is an intimidating players to play against with his size and speed but he didn’t show enough of a physical side to his game.
GBH #16 F Cederberg, Brendan (2016) – Cederberg has a powerful, wide skating stride that makes him very difficult to knock off the puck. He has excellent size and isn’t afraid to through the body on the fore check. He showed some good skill sets throughout the game as he made a few good passes through traffic as well as a good hard shot. Cederberg is a player who can really get under the skin of his opponents with his physical play and offensive capabilities.
GBH #77 D Phillips, Chet (2016) – Phillips played a solid 2-way game and was contributing at both ends of the rink. He has a good quick release from the point which he managed to get through to the net often. He always played a good physical game in his own zone and showed a good compete level when battling for pucks along the boards.
GBH #48 F Nasato, Jackson (2016) – Nasato plays on a line with Roberts and Cederberg to very big players. He did a good job all game of finding open space in the offensive zone which allowed his line mates to find him for quality scoring chances.
BAR #2 F Corcoran, Connor (2016) – Corcoran is a big winger with a lot of speed. He is relentless on the fore check every shift and plays with a lot of energy. He was the teams back bone offensively in this game scoring 2 goals. His first goal he showed the ability to be a net front presence on the power play as he held his ground a deflected a knee high shot past the goalie. His second goal of the game he used his speed down the wing a ripped a hard shot under the bar from the high slot.
BAR #8 Henderson, Braden (2016) – Henderson showed a lot of poise with the puck but at times he was too comfortable. He held on to the puck for too long in his own zone a couple different times which either resulted in a turnover or an errand pass which went for an icing. He is a very offensive minded defenseman who has a good hard shot from the point. He did a good job of getting a puck through traffic which created a rebound that led to a goal.
BAR #11 Busby, Dennis (2016) – Busby is an excellent skater who can get up and down the ice with ease. He played a solid defensive game and chipped in offensively when needed. He does a great job leading the rush and can gain the offensive blue line with ease. Busby continued to be as impressive as he was late in the season last year with Don Mills.
BAR #14 F Nastasiuk, Matt (2016) – Nastasiuk was quiet early on in this game but he has a good knack for the net. He did a good job of positioning himself to get a loose puck when there was a scramble in front of the goalie and he made no mistake by getting the puck up over the goalie glove in a hurry. He has a very good release but struggled to hit the net all game.
BAR # 17 Taylor, Christian (2016) – Taylor has very good hands in tight for a player his size. He stickhandled his way out of trouble twice in the same shift and made a great pass to his teammate in front for a quality scoring chance. He has good speed down the wing and a very good shot. Taylor was at his best in this game when playing physical and forcing turnovers on the fore check.
