HAM #11 RW Nurse, Isaac (2017) – Good energy on the penalty kill. Great skating. Good forecheck. Played second unit penalty kill.

HAM #18 LW Strome, Matthew (2017) – Good hands to score on rebound. Good shot blocking but then drifted out of position past the red line looking for a pass while Owen Sound created a scoring chance. Can protect the puck but rushed decisions with it at times. On other occasions he showed good patience to protect past the defender for scoring chance. Scored 4-6 goal with good, quick shot top shelf through a screen. Good diving play in the defensive zone to break up a scoring chance.

HAM #28 RW Studenic, Marian (2017) – Excellent speed, great forecheck, forced turnovers on the backcheck. Showed some skill one on one.

HAM #44 C Entwistle, MacKenzie (2017) – Good anticipation to steal a bad pass in the offensive zone and turn it into a scoring chance. Good positioning in front on the power play causing a lot of issues for the defence and goaltender. Consistent forecheck. Won or split a lot of faceoffs. Top penalty killing minutes and second unit power play.

HAM #33 G Fulcher, Kaden (2017) – Entered the game in the second period after being the back up to open the game. Let in a goal four seconds in on a quick shot entering the zone. Calmed it down significantly after that. Made a great save on a shorthanded breakaway. Quick to the posts when the play goes below the goal line. Great cross crease save. Made several good saves while his team was on the penalty kill finding the puck through traffic and on deflections. Good glove hand, catches pucks.

OS #12 RW Pryce, Nicholas (2017) – Good speed and anticipation to steal a bad pass and score 4-2 goal for his first career OHL goal.

OS #18 D Phillips, Markus (2017) – Can get driven off the puck by a strong opponent. Quick first pass up ice. Point shot was deflected by a Hamilton defender and in for 3-2 goal. Good hit one on one on a big forward. Won battles down low with his stick then skated out with the puck. Passed into opponents shin pads with time. Wrister from the point found its way through for a late 7-5 goal.

OS #37 C Suzuki, Nick (2017) – Missed on a couple chances in close then made a good play behind the net to score 5-2 goal. Forced turnover and made skilled pass. Quick hands, won battles with his quickness but lacks strength.

OS #31 G Daniels, Riley (2017) – Entered the game after Van Schubert allowed two quick goals. His first goal allowed entering the game was a wrister through a screen, not much chance. Challenged shooters well. Excellent flexibility and great second chance reflexes to make the save. Good recovery. Made good decisions with the puck. Fourth goal allowed couldn’t see through screen.
