Announces Scout Changes

We have been aware of this news for a while and early last week it became official. Sudbury has announced the news today that our Scout Ryan Yessie has accepted a position on the Wolves scouting staff. All of us at wish Ryan success as he continues his scouting career in the Ontario Hockey League.

“Ryan joined back in 2010 and it’s been an absolute pleasure having him on our scouting team. He became a key scout for us very quickly and his work ethic speaks for itself. Ryan took his time and found the opportunity that fit what he was looking for. We will miss him, but moving guys onward and upward is what we do. I feel as though we got 4 or 5 bonus years from him as it is.” said HP’s Mark Edwards

Yessie now joins several other HP alumni who scouted for and are now scouting for various teams. Just recently our former scout, Kevin Thacker, was named Director of Player Personnel and Scouting Coordinator for the Oshawa Generals. Kevin spent two years with the Guelph Storm after scouting with us for two years.

Jérôme Bérubé has been named HP’s new Head Scout to replace Yessie, who had held that role since 2012. Jérôme is entering his 7th season with

“Jérôme is a workhorse and is lucky to have him. He has run our QMJHL Draft for several years and that alone makes my life much easier. ” Edwards noted.

Along with Yessie, Toni Rajamäki and Tyler Bilton will not be returning in 2017/2018. Tyler will continue to coach in Sweden. We want to thank them both for their years with us and wish them nothing but great things in the future.

After a week of conducting numerous interviews, we have added several new scouts. More interviews will take place later this month to fill an additional opening.
