OHL Regular Season Game
SSM #11 D Hollowell, Mac (2017) – Quick feet, good skater. Carries the puck out of trouble with speed. Small and needs to fill out his frame. A little too aggressive on the penalty kill chasing out of position leaving the slot open for a scoring chance.
SSM #16 C Frost, Morgan (2017) – Great forecheck pressure and turned it into a scoring chance. Moves the puck quickly and accurately. Good anticipation to force turnovers. Great play late in his shift to keep the puck in the offensive zone. Doesn’t possess great size but shows the ability to make plays down low due to his hockey sense. Great puck patience to create scoring chances. Top power play unit.
SSM #21 D Timmins, Connor (2017) – Pretty good poise with the puck for his size. Finishes his checks one on one. Quick reaction time for his size. Protects the puck well. Aggressive stick defensively. Good reflexes. Played top unit penalty kill and second unit power play. Skating needs improvement.
SSM #22 RW Hawel, Liam (2017) – Good size and speed combination. Long powerful strides. Handled the puck well when entering the offensive zone. Too soft going into the corners, needs to be more aggressive without the puck. Good puck movement on the rush. Pulls up when he has a chance to hit the opposition.
WSR #26 RW Purboo, Cole (2017) – Good puck protection. Puts pucks deep when he doesn’t have a passing option. Went to the net and caused a disruption. Hard skater on the backcheck despite having below average skating and speed. Big open ice hit. Good reaction in the slot on the second power play unit to jam home 1-2 goal.
WSR #61 C Boka, Luke (2017) – Keeps his feet moving on the penalty kill but doesn’t get after the puck carrier aggressively enough. Chases the play constantly. Finished checks on the forecheck. Big open ice hit. Puck over the glass on the penalty kill put his team down two men.
WSR #64 G DiPietro, Mike (2017) – Doesn’t drop down too early. Calm and composed on odd man rushes. Always quick to his feet and doesn’t stay in the butterfly long. Second goal allowed was a deflected point shot. Directs away or covers rebounds not leaving much in the slot area. Good reflexes and reaction time when there are second chance opportunities.
Final Score: Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds: 3 – Windsor Spitfires: 1
