2013 NHL Draft Weekend Warriors – Nov. 5

     A look at the top performances of the week featuring draft-eligible players

     

     

    OHL

    – Top prospect Sean Monahan (Ottawa) had another good offensive week.  He scored 2 goals & 3 assists in 2 games and extended his point streak to 7 games. 

    He has 4 goals & 11 assists during the streak.

     

    – Mississauga Steelheads goaltender Spencer Martin picked up his 9th straight win following a 4-1 victory over Peterborough on Friday night.  He leads the OHL in GAA (1.90) & save percentage (.941).

     

    – Saginaw Spirit teammates Jimmy Lodge and Nick Moutrey each scored 2 goals & 1 assist in 2 games.

     

    – Forwards Kerby Rychel (Windsor) and Brody Silk (Sudbury) each netted 2 goals and added 1 assist in 3 games.

     

    Forwards Sergey Tolchinsky (S.S. Marie) and Ryan Hartman (Plymouth) also had 3 points on the weekend.  Both played in 2 games.

     

    – Owen Sound defenceman Chris Bigras recorded 3 assists in 3 games

     

    QMJHL

    – Gatineau forward Emile Poirier scored 4 goals and added 1 assist in 2 games, while Marc-Olivier Roy (Blaineville-Boisbriand) recorded 4 assists in 4 games.

     

    – Forward Adam Erne (Quebec) scored 4 goals in 2 games.  He currently sits in 7th in goals among QMJHL players.

     

    – Baie-Comeau forward Valentin Zykov & Cape Breton winger William Carrier each netted 2 goals & 1 assist in 2 games

     

    – Patrick Zdrahal (Acadie-Bathurst) picked up 1 goal & 2 assists in 3 games.

     

    WHL

    – Portland Winterhawks forward Nicolas Petan had the best offensive week for draft eligible players.  He recorded 2 goals & 5 assists in 3 games. 

     

    – Medicine Hat left winger Hunter Shinkaruk netted 4 goals & 2 assists in 3 games

     

    – Lethbridge Hurricanes centre Jay Merkley scored 3 goals in 3 games.

     

    – Forward Oliver Bjorkstrand (Portland) and defenceman Greg Chase (Calgary) each recorded 3 points in 3 games.

     

    – Goaltenders Brendan Burke (Portland) & Eric Comrie (Tri-City) each went 2-0 with a 2.00 GAA on the weekend.  Burke’s save percentage was .924, while Comrie had a .900 SV%.

     

    USHL

    – Brendan Harms (Fargo) is now the top scorer in the USHL after recording 2 goals & 2 assists in 2 games

     

    –  Trevor Moore (Tri-City) scored 2 goals in 2 games

     

    – Dubuque forward Peter Quenneville scored 1 goal & 3 assists in 3 games

     

    – Defenceman Gustav Olofsson (Green Bay) and Frederik Tiffels (Muskegon) each had 3 assists in 2 games on the weekend
