Alliance Minor Midget Playoff Quarter Final – Game #4
WSR #11 F Hay, Connor (2002*) – Good size not intimidated by older opponents. Made consistent smart plays with the puck. Accurate passing. Drilled opponent in open ice, but without the puck, resulting in a penalty. Played last minute up one goal.
WSR #15 D MacPherson, Mitchell (2019) – Good body positioning going into corners. Out of the box, he stole the puck and took it in for a breakaway. Good wrister low glove had but good save. Good open ice hit steps up on the blueline and uses his size. Skating is average at best.
WSR #27 F Jeffrey, Adam (2019) – Great size, skating is ok at his size but needs to get better. Lost some puck battles he should have won. Made some good passes when driving the net. Has good puck protection ability. Blocked two shots in the final seconds to secure the win.
WSR #55 D Krieger, Mitchell (2019) – Strong skating, hit or miss with the puck. Capable of making some very good plays but also susceptible to some bad decision making and can get too casual with the puck. Decent wrister from the point. Has tools for the next level but needs to make the right play more consistently.
WSR #31 G Polidori, Ryan (2019) – Not tested much but when he was he made some very good saves, particularly when going cross crease. Showed good flexibility and side to side stopping some sure goals. First goal against he lost track of the puck and the rebound was put away before he could find it.
LAM #4 F Ware, Cameron (2019) – Plays with a mean streak. Can get penalized by reputation as much as for action. Opponents try to hit him and bounce off. Skating is very ugly and will need a lot of work.
LAM #9 F DeGurse, Nolan (2020) – Great hands to create scoring chance but missed the net a few times. Skating is ok but it needs to be better at his size.
LAM #88 F Vandenboom, Spencer (2019) – Good skating and moved the puck quickly in transition. Good puck patience on the power play calming the play down when necessary and taking a moment to make the right play. Good work ethic and forced turnovers on the penalty kill.
LAM #30 G MacLean, Andrew (2019) – Made some good saves early on. Good frame and good reflexes. Sometimes doesn’t get to the top of the crease on chances in the slot giving the opponent more to shoot at. Recovery was a little slow but was often in good initial positioning which compensates.
Final Score: Windsor Jr. Spitfires: 2 – Lambton Jr. Sting: 1
