All-State All-Canadians Mentorship Cup Game
GIR #4 D Green, Luke – Green moved the puck hard and accurately when options presented himself. He was caught a few times completely unfocused. This was exposed in the third period where he was stripped of the puck and couldn’t recover. The play immediately resulted in the game’s winning goal. Luke is eligible for the 2014 QMJHL Draft.
GIR #9 F Steenbergen, Tyler – Tyler displayed a quick accurate release on his shot. He was selected 12th Overall by the Swift Current Broncos in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.[sociallocker]
GIR #10 D Clague, Kale – Kale was noticeable making quick intelligent decisions with the puck and processed the play mentally much faster than most players on the ice today. Kale was selected 6th Overall by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
GIR #11 F Malenstyn, Beck – Malenstyn displayed good physicality throughout the game. Beck was selected 18th Overall by the Calgary Hitmen in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
GIR #14 F Bitten, William – Good hands shown on penalty shot and scored. William has a fairly quick release on his shot. Bitten is eligible for the 2014 OHL Priority Selection Draft.
GIR #17 F Benson, Tyler – Skates well and possesses adequate size. He shows a willingness to finish his hits when necessary. He showed flashes of his excellent skill but also went through streaks where he was very quiet. Tyler was selected first overall by the Vancouver Giants in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft
GIR #18 F Moreau, Hunter – Hunter put Team Giroux’s third goal up on the board finishing at the side of the net on a great play created by his linemate. Moreau threw the puck away a little too much at a few points in this game as he appeared to be trying to create the perfect play. Hunter is eligible for the 2014 QMJHL Draft.
