Josh Morrissey, D Prince Albert Raiders Interview
Morrissey has shown great abilities at both ends of the ice so far this season. He is a solid puck moving defenseman who is tough to play against in his own end because he is so smart and is willing to play a physical game when necessary. He is a very good skater and showed good speed and the ability to make quick starts and stops. He has added an element of physicality in his game this year, particularly the ability to land clean open ice hits in transition. He has a good active stick and takes away passing and shooting lanes effectively. Offensively, Morrissey has done a very good job quarterbacking the power play for the Raiders. He makes decisions quickly and does not try to do too much with it. He manages the puck well and really limits the number of turnovers he commits on a game to game basis. Morrissey has a good one timer from the point, which opponents must respect and not cheat to try to take away a pass instead. He just needs to get stronger along the boards and continue to develop his physical game.
