Joseph Veleno of the Lac St-Louis Lions

Joseph Veleno is a forward with the Lac St-Louis Lions of the Quebec Midget AAA league. Born in 2000, he’s playing as an underager this season against players up to three years older than him. This season he finished with 52 points in 41 games, which was good for 12th overall in league scoring. In the history of the league, he sits 2nd for points and 1st for assists for a 14 year old player. Veleno has been playing very well representing his province at the Canada Games in Prince George, British Columbia. Veleno is eligible for the 2016 QMJHL Draft but there has been some talk that he could become the first player in history to receive the exceptional status in the QMJHL, only time will tell.

Here’s some footage of one of his recent game against the Séminaire St-Francois in the first round of the playoffs.
