Today we reveal the replacment for our NHL Draft Black Book. We have chosen NHL Draft Breakdown. Breakdown being one of the components of what Scouts do all season long. Breakdown: “Divide a complex whole into its parts or elements”. This NHL Draft publication will share many simularities with our NHL Draft Black Book. The format will not stray very far from what people have seen since 2012. The biggest differences will be length of profiles being shorter and something that buyers will love, a much lower price.
So why not just keep calling it the Black Book? “I didn’t want the Black Book to become too different than what it has been all these years. I wanted the Black Book to go out better than it arrived and it accomplished that.” HockeyProspect.com’s Mark Edwards explained. “I thought of NHL Draft Breakdown as the title for the new book back in the spring and liked it. I wanted to wait until mid season to make sure I still liked it and I do. I also asked a few scouts what they thought of the name and got good feedback, so that put a lid on it.” Edwards noted.
The 2025 NHL Draft Breakdown book will have a Platinum cover in year one and might even be available slightly earlier in June. “There is a chance we could get it out sooner but it depends on scouts writing and if we wait for the NHL Combine data. I will decide on that down the road, I may have a possible work around on the combine piece of the puzzle. Not sure how it will play out yet.” Edwards said.
The plan is to release in both an instant download Digital PDF version and a soft cover print version on amazon as soon as possible aftrer the PDF release.
