Hudson put together two excellent seasons as a freshman and then again as a sophomore for his home-town high school team, Apple Valley H.S. He was then brought into the U.S. Development program. Hudson adjusted well and uses his size extremely effectively. He is
not a great skater and really needs to improve that element of his game. Hudson is a big winger who loves to drive the net. He is at his best when he is in front of the net, battling for the puck and shows quick reflexes that allows him to bang home the puck.
He battles and deflects pucks effectively, and makes life miserable in general for opposing defenders. Hudson is a hard hitter along the board and a force when he goes into the corners. He shows a willingness to get back and help out defensively, but his skating ability really affects him on the rush. If he can im-prove his skating, Hudson has tremendous power forward potential for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He plans on heading to the University of Minnesota after he completes his time at the U.S. Development pro-gram. His WHL rights are held by Kelowna.
