Jason Dickinson – Guelph Storm – 2013 NHL Draft

Dickinson was selected in the 2nd round by the Guelph Storm out of the Halton Hurricanes program. During his minor midget season, Dickinson was

primarily a support player who showed flashes of skill. We expected him to make the Storm out of camp and help in a depth role, which is exactly how the season began for Jason. About midway through the season Dickinson really elevated his game. One of the biggest differences appeared to be his confidence. Once he got his feet wet in the OHL, Jason adjusted well to the physicality of the league and learned how to apply himself more in terms of his physical play. He protects the puck well and skates smoothly up ice. Dickinson will battle for the puck and appeared to win more battles as the year went on. He will be a real force after a couple more years of building strength in the off season. He has ideal positioning and can make quick decisions with the puck. Jason will get plenty of great opportunities with the Storm who are quickly turning into a powerful young team. Dickinson will take over a permanent top six role with the team next season.
