Kemptville 73’s AAA vs Hawkesbury Hawks AAA, September 18th, 2017

HAW #74 C Crete, Yanic (2018) – Yanic is a skilled left-shot center with above average offensive skill. He seemed to struggle on draws and I think at the next level his game is better suited for the wing. He wasn’t great defensively and has a tendency to fly the zone while his team attempted to break the puck out. Scored a goal by intercepting a breakout pass and was left all alone in front where he made a nice move outwaiting the goalie before putting it in an empty net. In the third period he made a stretch pass from his own zone to Leveille who scored on the breakaway. I wasn’t overly impressed with his game tonight and despite having two points, I would like to watch him play against better competition that will challenge him.
HAW #28 LW Brazeau, Brandon (U18 2018) – Brazeau was one of the better forwards tonight for Hawkesbury and plays a very reliable two-way game. He set the tone of the game early by delivering a couple of big hits. On the penalty kill he stripped the defensemen of the puck and got a shorthanded breakaway. Didn’t take any shifts off and his work ethic was consistent throughout the game.
KEM #9 C Taylor, Jeff (Windsor) – Taylor is a little on the smaller side but plays much larger than he is. He is the captain of the team and was the best player for Kemptville tonight. He leads by example with his work ethic, determination, willingness to battle. He is a tremendous skater who is amongst the fastest in the league. Liked his ability to control the puck on the powerplay and made a couple of difficult cross-ice passes to his teammates down low.
