Max Domi – London Knights – 2013 NHL Draft

Max contributed well on the top two lines for much of the 2011-2012 season despite his young age and really gave some of the veteran, skilled players a boost. Max’s hockey sense is absolutely through the roof and we’ve really enjoyed watching him perform, especially early on as a rookie, seeing what he was capable of doing at this level at such a young age.

Max really reads the play well and reacts quickly to those reads. He does a lot of the little things really well. He’s elusive and slippery with the puck and is very hard to contain. He has a good accurate shot and is at least equally as skilled with his passing ability. His awareness in the offensive zone makes him very dangerous when he doesn’t have the puck, as he has the positioning to get into great scoring areas. Defen-sively, he competes hard and tries to chip in when he can. He made strides in his defensive game after struggling early in his rookie season. He’s not someone we would consider a defensive specialist, but he does his part. While he’s not a killer in the physical game, he’s built solidly and is strong. He’s not one to drop the gloves, but appears to have the strength to hold his own if it came down to it. Max has all the intangibles to be a special, talented player. Overcoming his size will be the determining factor on how far he can go.
