Tobias Liljendahl – Djurgarden – 2013 NHL Draft

Tobias really impressed us this year and was named the captain of Sweden’s U17 team and really led them with both his size and determination. Tobias works very hard

in the slot and will battle. He combines this work ethic and size with quick reflexes and short reaction time and created fits for the opposition out front. He works hard in the corners and wins battles .Tobias was utilized constantly in critical defensive situations, including killing 5-on-3’s. He primarily would block shots and get into shooting lanes. Tobias is not a flashy player and while he handles the puck fairly well, he is at his best when he utilizes his positioning. Consistency will be a big thing for Tobias moving forward, as he has a tendency to disappear for shifts at a time. The depth in the Djurgarden system at forward caused Tobias to spend a lot of his time on the U18 team. He performed well, but may not be able to get past the U20 team next year depending on the situation there.
